The City Law School is one of London's major law schools, providing an impressive range of academic and professional courses. Part of the City, University of London, the law school is located near the heart of legal London, and has extensive links to law chambers, law firms and the Inns.
Law students will benefit from learning, studying and socialising in our new buildings close to Northampton Square, with dedicated study spaces, a mock court room, advocacy recording rooms and law library. As well as access to online legal resources, careers support and networking, there are opportunities to take part in Pro Bono schemes, mooting competitions and the Legal Clinic.
The Legal Practice Course (LPC) at City will help to prepare you for working life as a trainee solicitor, by processing client files and performing tasks relating to case studies, as well as the opportunity to concentrate on a specific area of law that relates to your training contract.
(From 2023, The City Law School will replace the current LPC with new SQE training options. You can read more about this on our SQE webpage.)
The Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at City is nationally renowned with an excellent reputation for students progressing to the Bar. This full-time postgraduate programme will help you to develop a strong base of legal knowledge, by covering the seven core legal modules required for progression, in just one year. Our programme is designed to be accessible and focused on your experience and gaining the skills to be successful in law.
